Meet the Oceanside Veterinary Hospital Staff

Kari, Hospital Manager

A San Diego County native, Kari has been involved in the veterinary profession for many years. After holding several positions at local hospitals, Kari has found a home at Oceanside Veterinary Hospital and anchors the team. She oversees all aspects of management of the hospital and helps all the doctors deal with the day to day nuances of running a veterinary practice. She is a pet advocate and dedicated individual and loves working with people and their pets. In her spare time, Kari enjoys dancing, following professional football (especially the Chargers), and spending time with her two young children when she is not working to help pet owners.

Cindy, RVT, Supervisor

Cindy was born in France but moved to the US when she was six and lived in San Francisco and Singapore before moving to San Diego. Cindy has a B.S. degree in Psychology from the University of San Diego and after taking some time from school, she went to work and volunteered at Helen Woodward Animal Center at their Adoption and Pet Therapy department. From there, she learned about the RVT program at Mesa College. Cindy attended Mesa and graduated with her Associate degree in Animal Science: Animal Health Technology and, afterwards, passed the State Board Examination to become an RVT. Cindy worked with Dr. Hackett at a practice in Del Mar for four years before coming to OVH. In her spare time, Cindy loves to spend time with friends, at the beach, watching movies, reading, hiking and spending time at home with her husband and two cats, Caleb and Jax.

Jenna, Receptionist

Jenna is a California native, having grown up in the Central Valley and moved to the San Diego area after she graduated high school. She has always had a passion for animals, having grown up with rescued cats and dogs her whole life. Because of this, Jenna has developed a desire to work in an environment to help more of them. In her free time, Jenna enjoys spending time with her tuxedo cat Riven, reading, writing, coloring, and video games.

Alexis, Receptionist

Alexis grew up in a small town in Southern Oregon, Grants Pass. There she got her Associates Degree in Science and Psychology.  After graduating she moved down to San Diego, and started working for a couple non-profits raising support and awareness for animals, the environment and children. She always had a passion for helping and continued her career as a Medical Assistant. After graduating and working in the medical field she decided to follow her passion for animals and took the first step into the field as a Veterinary Receptionist at Oceanside Veterinary Hospital. In her free time she enjoys being in nature, hiking, backpacking, camping and trail biking. She can’t wait to adopt a dog of her own to bring on her adventures with her.

Sierra, Veterinary Assistant

Sierra was born and raised in Southern California. She always knew from the start that she loved to work with animals. She started her first job at a dog daycare after graduating High School and worked there for four years before signing on with Oceanside Veterinary Hospital. Sierra also works part-time in San Diego doing hydrotherapy and rehab work with pets that are in need of physical therapy. She is very thankful for all the opportunities she have been given to work in the animal field and hopes to continue to learn and help as many pets as she can be healthy and happy.

She is currently studying to take her Veterinary Technician National Exam to become a Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVTg). On Maria’s personal time if she’s not studying, she is spending quality time with her Fiancé who is an RVTg, their 10 and 6 year old daughters, and their 6 four legged babies (3 cats, 2 dogs, and 1 leopard gecko). Maria is definitely excited to be a part of our team here at Oceanside Veterinary Hospital. She is eager to meet and provide the upmost loving care to all of your furry family members
