Meet the Oceanside Veterinary Hospital Staff

Kari, Hospital Manager

A San Diego County native, Kari has been involved in the veterinary profession for many years. After holding several positions at local hospitals, Kari has found a home at Oceanside Veterinary Hospital and anchors the team. She oversees all aspects of management of the hospital and helps all the doctors deal with the day to day nuances of running a veterinary practice. She is a pet advocate and dedicated individual and loves working with people and their pets. In her spare time, Kari enjoys dancing, following professional football (especially the Chargers), and spending time with her two young children when she is not working to help pet owners.

Cindy, RVT, Supervisor

Cindy was born in France but moved to the US when she was six and lived in San Francisco and Singapore before moving to San Diego. Cindy has a B.S. degree in Psychology from the University of San Diego and after taking some time from school, she went to work and volunteered at Helen Woodward Animal Center at their Adoption and Pet Therapy department. From there, she learned about the RVT program at Mesa College. Cindy attended Mesa and graduated with her Associate degree in Animal Science: Animal Health Technology and, afterwards, passed the State Board Examination to become an RVT. Cindy worked with Dr. Hackett at a practice in Del Mar for four years before coming to OVH. In her spare time, Cindy loves to spend time with friends, at the beach, watching movies, reading, hiking and spending time at home with her husband and two cats, Caleb and Jax.

Jenna, Receptionist

Jenna is a California native, having grown up in the Central Valley and moved to the San Diego area after she graduated high school. She has always had a passion for animals, having grown up with rescued cats and dogs her whole life. Because of this, Jenna has developed a desire to work in an environment to help more of them. In her free time, Jenna enjoys spending time with her tuxedo cat Riven, reading, writing, coloring, and video games.

Sierra, Veterinary Assistant

Sierra was born and raised in Southern California. She always knew from the start that she loved to work with animals. She started her first job at a dog daycare after graduating High School and worked there for four years before signing on with Oceanside Veterinary Hospital. Sierra also works part-time in San Diego doing hydrotherapy and rehab work with pets that are in need of physical therapy. She is very thankful for all the opportunities she have been given to work in the animal field and hopes to continue to learn and help as many pets as she can be healthy and happy.

Maria, Veterinary Assistant Supervisor

Maria was born in Renton, Washington and has spent some of her childhood in Kitzingen, Germany and Ensenada, Mexico, but grew up in California. She is a newly resident to San Diego County from the Inland Empire. Her passion and thrive has always been to care for all animals. Maria has been in the veterinary field for over 10 years and will continue to provide her knowledge and gentle care indefinitely. She is currently studying to take her Veterinary Technician National Exam to become a Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVTg). On Maria’s personal time if she’s not studying, she is spending quality time with her Fiancé who is an RVTg, their 10 and 6 year old daughters, and their 6 four legged babies (3 cats, 2 dogs, and 1 leopard gecko). Maria is definitely excited to be a part of our team here at Oceanside Veterinary Hospital. She is eager to meet and provide the upmost loving care to all of your furry family members

Lexy, Veterinary Assistant

Lexy was born and raised in Southern California. Growing up, she has always loved and had a passion for working and caring for animals. Lexy recently graduated from Animal Behavior College’s Veterinary Assistant Program in hopes to go back to school and become an RVT. Her goal is to always provide as much love and care to all animals that she comes into contact with. In Lexy’s free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their 3 fur babies, Harley, Saydie and Millie.

Aly, Veterinary Assistant

Aly, an Oregonian at heart, has lived in San Diego for 5 of the last 8 years. During her time here, she’s been especially active in animal rescue and welfare, either volunteering with the San Diego Humane Society or working with various animals as a caretaker. Currently enrolled in a Veterinary Nursing certification program with Purdue University, her love of animals goes much further than the three dogs she has at home.

Desiree, Receptionist

Desiree was born and raised in Ontario County New York, She worked in health care before joining the Marine Corps. After her time in the Marine Corps, she knew that she loved animals and wanted to help which is how she started as a receptionist at OVH. Desiree is the proud pet mom of four loving babies, three dogs Hanzo, Hercules and Chloe and one cat Geppetto. Her hobbies including hiking, going to the beach and spending time with her husband and fur babies.

Maddie, Veterinary Assistant

Maddie was born and raised in Texas and is a new resident of California. She realized she had a passion for working with animals while attending college at LSU and started working at a local veterinary hospital. Maddie has worked in the veterinary field for 3 years and loved every second of it. In her free time Maddie enjoys spending time with her fiancé, playing with her two cats Zoe & Snowball, and going to target.

Stephanie, Veterinary Assistant

Stephanie has  always had a huge passion for animals. Working at OVH allows her to live outside her dream. Stephanie grew up with a variety of animals and currently she has 1 dog named Diamond. She can’t wait to meet your fur babies too!

Anessa, Veterinary Assistant

Anessa is currently juggling a busy lifestyle with her 2 pit-bulls, family, and adorable step-daughter. Growing up Anessa was a part of the “Future Farmers of America” where she raised and showed sheep, pigs, goats, and cattle. For, 4 years Anessa gained experience in large animal medicine until she moved out of California and attended Auburn University in Alabama. While studying for pre-veterinary medicine Anessa realized that Southern California was her home. Upon moving back she found OVH and has been apart of the team ever since. Anessa still plans to go back to school to continue her path in veterinary medicine.
