Meet the Oceanside Veterinary Hospital Staff

Kari, Hospital Manager

A San Diego County native, Kari has been involved in the veterinary profession for many years. After holding several positions at local hospitals, Kari has found a home at Oceanside Veterinary Hospital and anchors the team. She oversees all aspects of management of the hospital and helps all the doctors deal with the day to day nuances of running a veterinary practice. She is a pet advocate and dedicated individual and loves working with people and their pets. In her spare time, Kari enjoys dancing, following professional football (especially the Chargers), and spending time with her two young children when she is not working to help pet owners.

Cindy, RVN Supervisor

Cindy was born in France but moved to the US when she was six and lived in San Francisco and Singapore before moving to San Diego. Cindy has a B.S. degree in Psychology from the University of San Diego and after taking some time from school, she went to work and volunteered at Helen Woodward Animal Center at their Adoption and Pet Therapy department. From there, she learned about the RVT program at Mesa College. Cindy attended Mesa and graduated with her Associate degree in Animal Science: Animal Health Technology and, afterwards, passed the State Board Examination to become an RVT. Cindy worked with Dr. Hackett at a practice in Del Mar for four years before coming to OVH. In her spare time, Cindy loves to spend time with friends, at the beach, watching movies, reading, hiking and spending time at home with her husband and two cats, Caleb and Jax.

Jenna, Receptionist

Originating from the Santa Cruz area, Jenna has been in Southern California now for over 10 years. She has a strong interest in animal and holistic medicine and likes learning about different natural remedies. She spends a lot of time working with her extremely anxious cat, Riven, which has sparked an interest in animal mental health as well. In her spare time, she enjoys creating crystal jewelry, salves, and oil blends as well as teaching on these topics.

Sierra, Veterinary Assistant

Sierra was born and raised in Southern California. She always knew from the start that she loved to work with animals. She started her first job at a dog daycare after graduating High School and worked there for four years before signing on with Oceanside Veterinary Hospital. Sierra also works part-time in San Diego doing hydrotherapy and rehab work with pets that are in need of physical therapy. She is very thankful for all the opportunities she have been given to work in the animal field and hopes to continue to learn and help as many pets as she can be healthy and happy.

Lexy, Veterinary Assistant

Lexy was born and raised in Southern California. Growing up, she has always loved and had a passion for working and caring for animals. Lexy recently graduated from Animal Behavior College’s Veterinary Assistant Program in hopes to go back to school and become an RVT. Her goal is to always provide as much love and care to all animals that she comes into contact with. In Lexy’s free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their 3 fur babies, Harley, Saydie and Millie.

Stephanie, Veterinary Assistant

Stephanie has  always had a huge passion for animals. Working at OVH allows her to live outside her dream. Stephanie grew up with a variety of animals and currently she has 1 dog named Diamond. She can’t wait to meet your fur babies too!

Ruby, Veterinary Assistant

Ruby has lived most of her life in Central Valley California. She worked at a VCA hospital before starting her new journey with OVH. Her passion to work with animals goes back to when she was a little girl. She graduated for Animal Behavior College as a Veterinary Assistant back in 2017 while volunteering at the Humane Society of Yuma, Arizona. She is currently in school to become an RVT. On her spare time, she loves exploring new places, going to the gym, watching documentaries and spending time with her family, her husband and their two fur babies; Hazel; a 5-year-old Lab mix and Zeus; a 4-year-old White Swiss Shepherd.

Summer, Veterinary Assistant

Originating locally from Escondido, Summer obtained her veterinary assisting certificate in 2019 from Mira Costa College. She has always been an avid animal lover and owner with the passion to help all animals since she was a little girl.  When she is not taking excellent care of your furry companions, she keeps herself busy with her two kitties Frida and Vincent as well as her two birds, Cleo and Link. Summer loves to wander museums, write and take nature photographs in her free time. Currently, Summer is working towards her RVT license in school and can’t wait to work as an Registered Veterinary Technician with OVH one day.
