Meet the Staff
  • Kari
    Hospital Manager

    A San Diego County native, Kari has been involved in the veterinary profession for many years. After holding several positions at local hospitals, Kari has found a home at Oceanside Veterinary Hospital and anchors the team. She oversees all aspects of management of the hospital and helps all the doctors deal with the day to day nuances of running a veterinary practice. She is a pet advocate and dedicated individual and loves working with people and their pets. In her spare time, Kari enjoys dancing, following professional football (especially the Chargers), and spending time with her two young children when she is not working to help pet owners.

  • Kyel
    Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist

    Kyel is a 5-year veteran here at Oceanside Veterinary Hospital. Her future goal is to become a registered veterinary technician, but in the meantime, Kyel helps the front office receptionist team with customer service and assists our technician team with pet care in the treatment area. In her spare time, Kyel enjoys music, baking, cross country running, and rock climbing.

  • Kathy
    Receptionist

    Kathy grew up with a passion for animals. There were always numerous animals in her home, including dogs, cats, and various small animals. After volunteering at another animal hospital, she knew this would be rewarding and challenging career. A native of Carlsbad, Kathy is married with 2 adult children and a senior Yorkie named Bridgette. In her free time she enjoys knitting, baking, camping, and jeeping. She is excited to join Oceanside Veterinary Hospital as a receptionist.

  • Cindy
    RVT

    Cindy was born in France but moved to the US when she was six and lived in San Francisco and Singapore before moving to San Diego. Cindy has a B.S. degree in Psychology from the University of San Diego and after taking some time from school, she went to work and volunteered at Helen Woodward Animal Center at their Adoption and Pet Therapy department. From there, she learned about the RVT program at Mesa College. Cindy attended Mesa and graduated with her Associate degree in Animal Science: Animal Health Technology and, afterwards, passed the State Board Examination to become an RVT. Cindy worked with Dr. Hackett at a practice in Del Mar for four years before coming to OVH. In her spare time, Cindy loves to spend time with friends, at the beach, watching movies, reading, hiking and spending time at home with her husband and two cats, Caleb and Jax.

  • Aida
    Veterinary Assistant

    Aida grew up in Lancaster CA, moved down to San Diego in 2003, and has been in the veterinary field ever since. She has two dogs, Cherry, a Jack Russell terrier and Sophie, a black pug. She got them both as puppies in 2004 and they are only four months apart. Aida also recently got a kitten who is a great addition to her fur family. Aida has always loved al animals and so it is a real pleasure to get to work with them everyday. In her off time she likes to hike with Cherry and enjoy nature and the outdoors. Aida also goes to school part-time and is studying to be a counselor.

  • Sebastian
    Veterinary Assistant

    Sebastian was born and raised in the deserts of Indio California. After graduating from high school in 2009, Sebastian went on to attend UC Riverside and attain his Bachelor's of Science in Anthropology in 2013. He interned at Riverside Community Hospital for two years before deciding that animals were his true passion. Sebastian became a recent native to San Diego county in 2014 and attended Cal State University San Marcos to finish the last of his pre-requisites for Veterinary School. This is his first official Veterinary job and he cannot be more happy to start his life long career of serving animals and their owners at Oceanside Veterinary Hospital. When he isn't working Sebastian enjoys watching/talking sports, playing rugby, hiking, running, and spending time with his friends/family.

  • Shante
    Receptionist/Veterinary Assistant

    Shante was born in Wyoming but raised in Colorado. She is married to a US Marine who was just stationed here at Camp Pendleton. Shante has two dachsunds named Tank and Diesel and recently went to school to become certified as a veterinary assistant. In her spare time, Shante enjoys hiking, biking, snowboarding, fishing and building projects with her husband.

  • Jenna
    Receptionist

    Jenna is a California native, having grown up in the Central Valley and moved to the San Diego area after she graduated high school. She has always had a passion for animals, having grown up with rescued cats and dogs her whole life. Because of this, Jenna has developed a desire to work in an environment to help more of them. In her free time, Jenna enjoys spending time with her tuxedo cat Riven, reading, writing, coloring, and video games.

  • Frankie
    Veterinary Assistant

    Frankie was born and raised in California together with her 5 siblings. She and her husband moved to Oceanside a year ago with their 3 "very spoiled" mini dachshunds. Frankie has always had a passion for animals and recently decided she wanted to pursue a career in the veterinary field. She is currently in school to obtain her Associate of Arts degree and, ultimately, become a Registered Veterinary Technician. When she isn't working at Oceanside, Frankie loves spending time with her pups and family, baking, crocheting, and enjoying outdoor activites.

  • Alicia
    RVT

    Alicia was born and raised in Southern California. Growing up, she was always fascinated with helping animals, often playing "nurse" to her brother's "animal doctor" as they were trying to heal the stuffed animal "patient" as young children. Becoming a licensed RVT is a natural extension of her talents. In her spare time, Alicia enjoys fencing, rock collecting, square dancing, and crocheting. Alicia has worked in many general practices and specialty centers but believes she has found the right fit at Oceanside Veterinary Hospital. She enjoys being part of a team and delivering excellent patient care.

  • Kendall
    RVT

    Kendall was born and raised in San Diego, California. She recently graduated with an Associate of Science degree from San Diego Mesa College's Animal Health Technology Program and has recently passed her RVT certification exam. Kendall shares her home with five cats (Whiskey, Benson, Clyde, Moxxi, and Momma Steve), four rescued laboratory rats (Nelliel, Amumu, Waffles and Theodore), two hermit crabs (Pops and Walter), a crested gecko (Anders), and a red-footed tortoise (Trevor). In her spare time, she enjoys going on impromptu adventures, dabbling in video games, DIY projects, camping, and learning how to speak “Cat”. Meow!”

  • Brenna
    Receptionist

    Brenna grew up in Vista and still lives there. She is currently attending Mira Costa College to acquire an A.A degree in Medical Administration. Brenna loves helping animals and people; "If I can make someone's day better and put a smile on their face, I will!" Her hobbies include going to the desert, off-roading, jet skiing, hiking, and working out. She also has 6 total pets, 3 dogs (Dash, Charlie, Lola) and 3 cats (Wolf, Winston, and Bruce). Brenna has one rule she lives by.... and that is to never wear matching socks because it is unlucky to do so!

  • Shelby
    Receptionist

    Shelby was born and raised in Alabama. She is married to a US Marine who is stationed here at Camp Pendleton. I have a Boxer/Pitbull mix named Rhett. Animals have always been a huge passion of Shelby's, and she is currently in school to become a Veterinary Assistant initially, and then a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT). In her spare time, Shelby enjoys music, spending time with her husband and fur baby, and outdoor activities.

  • Vanessa
    Veterinary Assistant

    Vanessa grew up in Temecula, CA and graduated from Chaparral High School in 2012. She then moved to Escondido, CA in 2015 to attend San Diego Mesa College and graduated from Mesa with an Associates of Science Degree in Animal Health Technology. Vanessa's next goal is to pass the board examinations to become a registered veterinarian technician (RVT). Vanessa shares her home with her cat, Bellamy, and two small dogs named Tinkerbell and Irie. Vanessa is very happy to start veterinary career working with pets and their owners at Oceanside Veterinary Hospital.

  • Hailey
    Receptionist to support

    Haley was born and raised in Indiana. She is a military spouse and just moved here from Georgia. Hailey has two dogs at home, a redbone coonhound named Gus and a German Shepherd named Sam. Hailey has always had a passion for animals, and her dream since she was little has always been to help animals. Hailey is currently taking classes through Penn Foster College to become a Registered Veterinary Technician. In her spare time Hailey likes to read, play tennis and spend time with her family.

  • Gabrielle
    Receptionist

    Gabrielle moved here from New Hampshire a couple years ago to start school to become an RVT. She is currently working towards her bachelors degree in biology. Gabby has a chocolate Lab named Teddy and a grey long hair cat named Blu. She has always loved animals and knew she would pursue a career in veterinary medicine since she was a very young child.
